I know you’ve probably heard this phrase before: Be the Lighthouse, but what does it exactly mean?
Earlier this afternoon I was going through the content I have created both on youtube and here on my website. The views, the likes, the comments are low. I want to serve more people and I want more people to engage with what I am sharing.
I am immensely passionate about my work – I love the work I do. I love that I am the Lighthouse. I am energized beyond measure working one-on-one with coaching clients, curating content and sharing my message of authenticity, self-love, empowerment and spiritual living.
Even though I fully believe in what I am doing, sometimes I get so caught up in being validated! This is something I have struggled with my whole life. People must like me, I must get good grades, I must please my parents, I must make good money, the world better view me as this nice, sweet girl.
When we are always looking outside of us for validation to be who we are – we are often left feeling empty, depleted and hurt. When what we do and who we are goes unnoticed, we feel like we don’t even exist!
This is how I constantly
felt, still feel. I just had a good hard cry about this because I am so sick of waiting for validation before I can be great, do great and know my greatness. This is living life as a victim – being defined by our outer reality and allowing that to dictate our internal condition.
No more. I have decided to stop this. To end this cycle of seeking validation for my worth and value! I choose to be the Lighthouse.
Now, back to my original statement at the beginning of the post. Be the Lighthouse.
The dictionary definition of a lighthouse is: a structure (as a tower) with a powerful light that gives a continuous or intermittent signal to navigators.
A lighthouse casts out a powerful light that can be seen from far far away. It gives ships confidence and awareness that they are close to safety – land is near.
A lighthouse guides you along your way – it shows you where to go, not how to get there. Your job is to use its guidance to help you go along your way – your own path. The lighthouse cannot navigate your ship, but it can guide you by giving you the tools – awareness – necessary to help navigate your own ship.
I am the Lighthouse. This is exactly what my work is about – being a guide who empowers you to create change in your life by helping you become become aware of how you’re navigating your boat, the path you’re currently on and allow clarity into where you want to be going.
A lighthouse doesn’t wait for boats to enter the harbor before it castes its light. It always gives continuous light regardless of how many boats there are. Its light is not dependent upon anything happening around it, its purpose is to just be the light.
If in your heart you know that you are here to be the Lighthouse – to show the world a new way, then I want to tell you:
Embrace your light.
Own your light.
You are the lighthouse.
You don’t need any validation to do your great healing work. Do it because its your purpose, your passion and your calling. A calling is the thing you cannot not do, the very thing that energizes you and is of deep deep deep service to the healing of our world!
Stand firmly in your presence, your light, and know that your light is being seen. It is being heard. It is being loved. It is being supported. You are loved. You are supported. You have value.
