Every image you have of yourself is learned. The real you is not a bunch of images, but an inner knowing. This knowing is not dependent upon anything ~ it is pure energy, the consciousness in which your physical manifestation takes form to have this temporary human experience.
A couple years ago I remember reading these words from Eckhart Tolle’s book, The Power of Now:
“I was so sick of living with myself”.
Those words stunned me because I felt the exact same way. I was absolutely sick of being with myself.
He went onto explain that since he felt sick of living with himself then, there must be two of him. The one who he is living with and the one that is the real him.
I felt the same way! Not until I read his words, did the way I felt all along make any sense to me.
So who is this other self that I am living with? It is the Ego. The voice in our head. The one that never seems to shut up no matter what. The one we can’t get rid of, the one that has something to say about everything, always.
The ego is the voice of our learned self image. Who we are told we are by our parents, society, religion, culture, education, childhood upbringing, friends, etc.
This is not the real us, but just a compilation of a bunch of stuff that we’ve learned along the way on our journey.
The real Self can never be learned, it can only be known and felt. It is heart-based.
Our real Self, the authentic you, speaks through intuition. Intuition literally means knowing from within. It is the divine voice or your inner guidance system.
In the video today I share with you how to tell difference between each voice and how you can begin to hear your intuition:
Big Idea 1: The Ego will always speak first
Big Idea 2: Intuition isn’t something you can always pin point, it is feeling based. Instead asking yourself is this right, ask how does this feel?
Big Idea 3: The voice that you listen to is the voice you will hear.
The key to living and leading with your intuition is trusting it and acting on what it is telling you. That is how you’ll begin to build your intuitive muscles. Like with anything, the more you practice the stronger and easier it’ll be to know when it’s your intuition speaking. I like to call my intuition my inner superhero, because its always cheering for me and guiding me. I know I can rely on it!
Your turn, share with me how you know your intuition is speaking to you?
Be patient. Be gentle. Be kind.
