A love story involves a two way unfoldment of love – falling into the experience of our highest joy, fulfillment and pure happiness.
Most love stories are between two people – who have fallen in love with one another. But how many love stories do you know of where someone has fallen in love with themselves?
In our culture, we don’t place much emphasis or importance on the power of loving thy self or why loving ourself is the cornerstone to all the love we are capable of giving and receiving.
What if we placed a greater emphasis on self-love? What if we were taught as young children to love ourselves? How would that change who we become as adults?
We would feel whole, empowered and fully loved as adults; instead of feeling broken, flawed little children in adult bodies. We would see an end to some of the most prevalent problems in the world today. We would witness love between nations, races, religions and humanity.
We would tell different stories. Stories filled with kindness, compassion, connection, oneness, honesty, tolerance, helpfulness, empowerment. We would define love as the only power in our lives. We would let love lead.
It begins with you. Your choice to participate in a self love revolution. To let love write a new story for you.
If you could write your self-love story, what would it be like? How would you love yourself?
These are questions I have really begun to answer for myself as I revisit my past in order to understand who I am today. In the video I walk you through my past – the relationship I had with myself at various ages throughout my life:
