Meditation has changed my life from the inside out. It is an invitation to go within. When we don’t go within, we go without.
As a teen I remember reading this tweet from someone: I wish I could take my brain out and give it a good wash and clean.
I felt the same way. My mind always felt cluttered and heavy. I suffered from depression, anxiety and suicidal tendencies for a good portion of my life.
When I was introduced to meditation, I didn’t know what to think. I did it here and there, but it never really made any sense to me. So I just assumed it wasn’t for me.
In 2013 I was guided to Kundalini Yoga. This is where my meditation journey began. I began my mediation practice with the Kirtan Kriya, which I do till this day and deeply love!
Then, I decided to dive into doing silent meditation sittings. I searched for meditation teachers in the area I lived to help me create a practice. I would do weekly sittings with my teacher for 45 mins. I did this on and off for a few months. This allowed to really understand why we meditate and how to meditate. Then, I started doing silent meditation sittings on my own for 10 minutes working up to 30 minutes to even an hour on some days.
Now I meditate everyday! I don’t miss a day because it is of immense value to my well-being!
When we commit, the Universe supports us in every way! When we meditate we meet ourself in stillness – as we realize our true nature as infinite spiritual beings.
I have reaped so many rewards by doing this life-changing practice. In the video below I share with you the amazing benefits of meditation and how it has changed my life:
